I started a
blog on this subject actually for members of my
matrix program that needed help getting some referrals for that or for their own programs.
I realize how important getting these are - whether you are trying to build your downlines in traffic exchanges, text ad exchanges, safelists or for your affiliate or mlm programs. Some exchanges and safelists pay for referrals in addition to giving credits or other bonuses.
One of the cool things that some programs do is let you email your referrals. Another exchange owner and I set up a
referral contest running this month. What's exciting about it is that you can win additional referrals beyond getting some banner ad credits. At both of our exchanges you can email your downlines which can be pretty powerful for getting those people to join your other programs. You can build relationships with these people over time to increase effectiveness in getting conversions.
Traffic exchanges are great because you can advertise your programs with splash pages, affiliate pages, lead capture pages to drive people to your sites. Some exchanges even offer the ability to make free splash pages. They'll just put a banner bar or something similar at the top or bottom of the page to indicate where the page was made. This is clickable, so you might get referrals to the exchange, even if you don't get a referral to the program. I've gotten several referrals to
EasyHits4U this way.
